Workers construct sheet piling as part of the reinforced dune wall being constructed from Beach 9th Street to Beach 149th Street, Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2022, in the Far Rockaway neighborhood of the Queens borough of New York. The reinforced dune, part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Atlantic Shorefront Resiliency Project designed to block storm surge, will consist of sheet piling, armor stone, concrete cap, topped with sand backfill with additional sand and vegetation.
